Statue Fun

I love certain works of art, in marble or painting form. Statues of marble look so lifelike, if made well. It always amazes me. I can just imagine them being alive, and the forms we see are but a snapshot of their lives, frozen in time and memory.

During the summer of 2013, I was in Paris for a few days and visited the Louvre, as any person (tourist or non-tourist) should do. I took a bunch of photos, as any tourist would do. Today I stumbled on a few of my photos again and was delighted to realize I had taken some photos of statues with captions already in my head.

Without further ado, I present to you some of the residents in the great Louvre:

Get ready Italy, we’re coming!!! :D

This Friday, yes, in two days, M. and I are off to Italy!!! 😀 Woot!!!

This is our itinerary!

Starting in Milan Bergamo, then Verona, Venice, Bologna, Florence, Pisa, and ending in Rome!!! 😀

I cannot wait to see all the beautiful renaissance paintings in art museums, and eat delicious pasta made in Italy, and pizzas, and cold coffees, and frappuccino!!! 😀 Mnaaaam!

The only thing that worries me, is pickpockets. That something will be stolen, something valuable. And I don’t have money holders inside clothes, sniff. Hopefully it’ll be ok.

Plus I hope Ryanair handles my backpack with care!

By the way, this means I won’t be updating here for the rest of July.

Have a great sunny July!!!! 😀 See you next month! 😛 🙂

Europe, Europe !!!!

Woooo!!

Guess what? I found a friend to come with me on the backpacking trip!!!!

So now it’s totally official 😀  !!

I was so excited when she immediately said yes, I wanted to jump around from excitement! 😛

The only thing now is to plan together where we will go… etc.

To buy travel guide(s), a good backpack, first-aid kit just in case, and all the bare necessities!

Oh yes, I am so excited that I would like to go dance around with Baloo and Mogli! 😀

Travelling by Interrail …

I am thinking of an Interrail trip … It will be my first time to do such a thing. To go backpacking somewhere, instead of in and out of airports. I’ve travelled quite a bit with planes, but that is much more different.

I would prefer to go with a friend or a group of friends… But if nobody is available to come (and I don’t know who to ask), then maybe I should just go on my own. If I don’t go on my own when there is nobody to join me, it is like admitting that I am afraid of the unknown, afraid of being alone, afraid of just being with myself.

Well, frankly, I’m afraid that I’ll get bored. 😛 Having nobody to talk to… I mean yes, I will see many beautiful places, but if there is nobody to share that with or have a little chit-chat with… What is the point of seeing those places alone? So I am thinking that maybe this trip isn’t about seeing the world. Maybe it’s about proving something to myself. Is it worth it? Hmmm … I don’t want to look back and regret not going. I will have some days free, so why not?

But then again, I have never planned such a trip. I have never actually planned any trip in such detail. To decide where to go, where to stay, how long, etc. It’s mind-boggling. And all the different sites with so much information…. I get a headache just thinking about it.

I think Benelux is a good option… What do you think? 🙂
